Integrative Medicine and Health Optimization in Oshkosh, Wisconsin

Most people arrive here after a long stretch of being told that nothing is wrong. The labs came back normal, the visit was fifteen minutes, and the symptom is still there. Others arrive feeling well and wanting to stay that way. Green Medicine of Wisconsin is an integrative medicine clinic in Oshkosh built for both.

What integrative medicine means here

Integrative medicine is an approach, not a product. Traditional medicine is good at naming a condition and matching it to a treatment. We start somewhere else: why is this happening in this particular person. Two people with the same fatigue may arrive there by different roads, and the plan that helps one may do nothing for the other.

It is an approach to health that looks at root causes rather than just treating symptoms. Symptoms in one body system often connect to dysfunction in another. Gut issues affect mood. Hormone shifts affect everything. We treat the system, not just the part.

Evelyn Andersen, Owner and Provider

The work starts with history. A long one: the timeline, what changed, the medications, the sleep, the stress, and the parts of your story that never seemed relevant enough to mention. Visits here are unhurried by design, and we see patients for years rather than for episodes.

The fusion: integrative and traditional medicine together

This is what patients most often get wrong about us. Traditional medicine is part of how we practice. We use it when it is the right tool, we refer to specialists, and we ask you to keep your primary care provider. What we add are the layers a fifteen minute visit has no room for. Some call this integrative and functional medicine, some call it root-cause medicine, and Evey calls it fusion. The label matters less than the method.

A multi-tool clinic, not a one-thing clinic

We are a whole-person medical practice with a deep range of tools, from advanced laser therapy and peptides to hormone care, and the evaluation determines which of them belong in your plan. A clinic organized around one modality has a reason to find that modality in every patient. A clinic organized around the evaluation does not.

The tools we reach for

Each has its own page, and each is a possible part of a plan rather than a destination on its own.

If you are unwell

You do not need a diagnosis to become a patient, or your symptoms organized into a tidy story. Bring the whole thing. We use labs where they genuinely add information, and we know that a normal result and feeling well are not the same thing.

If you feel well and want to stay that way

The other half of this practice is health optimization: patients who are functioning fine and want a plan built on their own history, habits, and goals rather than a population average. The method is the same, but the questions and the pace are different.

What to expect from this approach

This is thorough, long-term medicine. Plans draw on lab work, prescription options, nutrition, lifestyle, and targeted therapies rather than supplements alone, and they are refined over months with your practitioner. For emergencies, the emergency department is always the right place.

Who you will be working with

Evelyn Andersen, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, AdvPracHom(RMDY), FAAMM, ABAAHP, CISSN, owns the practice and is a family nurse practitioner, homeopath, and certified sports nutritionist. She is also a member of ILADS. Jamie Lorrigan, DNP, APRN, ACNPC-AG, is an adult acute care nurse practitioner, after years as a nurse here.

Everyone starts the same way

There is one front door. Whether you come for a complex chronic illness or a wellness visit, you become a patient through our new-patient intake, and your history is reviewed before your first visit. No service here is ordered off a menu without a clinical conversation first.

Becoming a patient

Patients come to us from across the country, and care happens in person at our Oshkosh clinic, which also serves the Fox Valley, Appleton, and surrounding communities. New patients start with an intake so we can understand your history first. Our schedule often books out a few months, so it is worth starting sooner rather than later.

Frequently asked questions

What is integrative and functional medicine?

It is an approach that asks why a problem is happening in you specifically, rather than matching a label to a standard treatment. It leans on a long history, a personalized plan, and follow-up over time, and it blends integrative tools with traditional medicine rather than choosing between them.

Is this a replacement for my regular doctor?

No. We work alongside traditional care, coordinate with your other providers, and we will say plainly when something belongs with your primary care provider or a specialist.

Do you only see people who are sick?

No. A good share of our patients feel reasonably well and want a plan built on their own history rather than a population average.

Do you take insurance?

We are a cash-pay practice, because the longer visits and comprehensive workups are not what insurance reimburses. Outside lab work may still be billed through your insurance.

Do you see patients outside Wisconsin?

Yes. We welcome patients from across the country and have cared for patients internationally. Your visits happen in person at our Oshkosh, Wisconsin clinic, since our providers are licensed in Wisconsin, and many patients travel in for care. Phone and video follow-ups are available where state licensure permits.

How much does it cost?

Costs are discussed at your visit and depend on your plan.
