How Much Is the First Visit?

The initial appointment is $710 for a 2-hour visit with your provider inside a 3 to 4 hour clinic visit, and your $200 deposit is applied to it. A typical first visit totals $2,000 to $2,200 including labs and supplements, often less, since in many cases labs are covered by your insurance. Follow-up visits are $300 to $400. We are self-pay and provide a superbill for commercial insurance; cash, check, credit card, HSA, and FSA are accepted. The full breakdown is on What Care Costs, and the steps to start are on Become a Patient.

Do You Accept Insurance?

We are a self-pay practice and do not bill insurance directly. You pay at the time of service, and we provide a superbill after each visit that you can submit to a commercial insurance plan for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Submitting it is up to you; we do not have an insurance department, but we are glad to provide the records you need. Paying directly is what lets us spend real time with you and work through several concerns in one visit instead of asking you to come back again and again. HSA and FSA are accepted.

We are not enrolled with Medicare, Medicare Supplemental, Medicaid, or CHIP and cannot submit claims to them. Patients with these as primary coverage are welcome to see Evelyn Andersen on a private-pay basis. Jamie Lorrigan is not able to see patients whose primary coverage is Medicare, Medicare Supplemental, Medicaid, or CHIP. Please tell us your coverage type on the intake form before scheduling.

Is the First Visit in Person?

Yes. Every new patient is seen in person at our Oshkosh clinic so we can run in-office labs and complete the full workup. Plan on 3 to 4 hours, including about 2 hours with your provider. Phone and video follow-ups are available afterward where state licensure permits. We do not offer online first visits. The one exception is the Acute Tick Bite Telemedicine Visit with Dr. Jamie Lorrigan, DNP, APRN, a video visit for Wisconsin residents 13 and older with a recent tick bite, separate from new-patient care.

Do I Need to Live in Wisconsin?

No. Patients have traveled to our Oshkosh clinic from 24 states and 3 countries since 2013. Our providers are licensed in Wisconsin, so your first visit and most follow-ups happen in person here. Phone and video follow-ups are available where state licensure permits, and our practice manager confirms what is possible for your state when she calls to schedule. Flying in? Appleton (ATW) is roughly 25 minutes from the clinic, Green Bay (GRB) roughly 45, and Milwaukee (MKE) about 90. The Hilton Garden Inn Oshkosh offers a Green Medicine Rate; the booking link is on our Resources page. For flights, lodging and what to bring, see Traveling to Oshkosh.

How Long Is the Wait for a New Patient Appointment?

New patient appointments usually book out about 2 to 3 months, sometimes longer during peak tick season. Appointments are booked in the order completed intake forms are received, and your $200 deposit locks your intake in for scheduling. Our practice manager calls within 1 to 3 business days of receiving your intake to set the date. We are not an urgent care clinic: for an acute tick bite, see the Acute Tick Bite Telemedicine Visit; for any other acute situation, please contact your primary care provider, urgent care, or the emergency department.

What Are Your Hours and Where Are You Located?

We are open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and closed Friday. The clinic is at 1259 W. 20th Avenue, Oshkosh, WI 54902, in the front portion of the first airplane hangar housing Max/Pax Air, on the south side of 20th Avenue. Call (920) 651-3600 or email admin@gmofwi.com. More on our Contact page.

Where Do I Get My Labs Drawn?

All labs requiring a serum blood draw can be drawn in our clinic at the time of your appointment. Our lab accepts most major insurance carriers. Lab orders can also be provided to have them drawn at an outside facility of your choosing. There are more specialized labs that are utilized at times including DUTCH, Genova, Great Plains Laboratory, ZRT, Doctor's Data, and Sanesco.

How Do I Reorder My Supplements?

Reorder anytime from our online supplement store, with in-office pickup or shipping, or call the office at (920) 651-3600 and we will get it ready for you. Everything is practitioner-grade, the professional brands we use in clinic that you usually can only get through a provider, offered at fair patient pricing so you get products you can trust at a good value.

Do You See Patients for Conditions Other Than Lyme Disease?

Yes! Absolutely. In addition to Lyme and tick-borne illness, patients come for a variety of reasons: mold and CIRS evaluation, IV therapy, peptide therapy, evaluation of hormones and bioidentical hormone therapy, nutritional counseling, health and wellness visits, brain health, or simply for a more integrative and holistic approach. See Our Services for the full picture.

Do You Offer Primary Care Services?

No. Green Medicine is an integrative clinic, not primary care, so we ask every patient to keep a primary care provider for routine care, sudden illness, and emergencies. Some patients come to us alongside a regular doctor they like; others come because they have not found answers yet. Either way, we are glad to coordinate with your primary care provider and specialists, and we will tell you plainly when something belongs with them.

Can I Bring a Companion?

At Green Medicine, we understand that attending medical appointments can be a daunting experience. That's why we welcome patients to bring a companion to their appointment for added comfort and support. However, as our clinic is quite small, we kindly request that patients limit their companions to one person only. This helps to ensure that we can maintain a calm and organized environment for all our patients. Whether it's a friend, family member or caregiver, we encourage patients to bring whoever they feel will help them feel most at ease during their appointment. Together, we can work towards achieving optimal health and wellbeing. Exceptions can be made for special circumstances where additional support is necessary.

Clinic Policies

What Is the Cancellation / No Show Policy?

We understand that sometimes you may need to reschedule or cancel your appointment. To ensure that we can accommodate other patients, we kindly ask that you call us directly at (920) 651-3600 in the event of a cancellation. Please note that if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, a $50 cancellation fee will apply. This policy also applies to appointments cancelled by voicemail left over the weekend for Mondays. For initial appointments, 48 business-hours notice keeps $100 of your deposit refundable; with less notice, the full deposit is retained. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with our cancellation policy. We do understand that things come up, but please do your best to keep us informed so we can give another patient the opportunity for that appointment time!

Reschedule Policy

If you are an existing patient and have had two (2) no-shows or late cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, you will be required to prepay for the office visit.

If you cancel and reschedule 2 appointments in a row, we will require prepayment before rescheduling a third time.

Routine Follow Up Care

For the safety and continuity of care, it is essential for patients to attend routine follow-up appointments. These visits allow us to assess your progress, monitor your condition, and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan. As part of our policy, patients are required to be seen at least once per year for prescriptions. However, most of our patients may require more frequent routine visits. This ensures that we can properly evaluate your ongoing treatment needs and provide safe, effective care.

We are always open to exploring new treatment options for active patients and have never declined a request to evaluate potential therapies. However, all medications, even those with promising results, can have potential side effects or interactions. Therefore, we carefully assess each treatment to ensure it is both safe and appropriate for your individualized care.

We understand that some patients may expect prescriptions to be provided over the phone without adequate follow-up care. However, this practice presents significant safety concerns and does not align with our commitment to thorough, personalized care. We appreciate your understanding as we uphold these standards to ensure the best possible outcomes for all of our patients.

Communication Guidelines

Please call the office or message nursing staff via the patient portal for any sort of follow-up, treatment, recommendations, or specific questions to your care. Questions about medical concerns must be answered via HIPAA compliant methods. We are unable to respond to any specific medical inquiries via social media or email. This is both for legal reasons and to ensure continuity of care.

It is our policy to return all patient calls within 48 to 72 business hours. We make every effort to respond as promptly as possible, but we ask for your patience as we prioritize timely communication.

Additionally, Evey and Jamie are typically with patients during office days, which means the best way to get answers to your questions is by communicating with our skilled nursing team. Our nurses are highly trained to address your concerns, provide guidance, and triage any issues. They ensure that matters requiring urgent attention are promptly brought to your provider's attention. This process allows us to respond efficiently and prioritize your care. Thank you for understanding and working with us to support your health and well-being!

Fragrance Free Environment

We prioritize the health and well-being of all our patients. Therefore, we kindly ask that you avoid wearing strong perfumes or fragrances when visiting our facility. Many people have chemical sensitivities that can be triggered by the scents commonly found in perfumes and fragrances. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a fragrance-free environment for all of our patients. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to speak with one of our staff members.
