Betaine and Pepsin delivers two of the most fundamental tools the upper gut uses to break a meal down: hydrochloric acid (in the form of betaine HCl) and pepsin, the enzyme that begins protein digestion. When stomach acid runs lower than the body wants, protein, minerals, and B12 are harder to release from food, and patients often feel that gap downstream as fatigue after meals, slow digestion, or a sense that food sits longer than it should.

What I like about this particular formula is the practical part. A 225-count bottle reflects how this is actually used: a capsule or two with a protein-containing meal, observed over time, adjusted as digestion settles. It is also a clean pairing of just the two actives, without flavorings or extras to muddy what is doing the work.

The deeper why almost always comes back to what is on the plate. Stress, fast eating, and chronic acid suppression can leave the upper gut underperforming.
