Phosphatidylserine is a phospholipid that sits inside the membranes of every cell in the body, with the highest concentrations in the brain. It plays a role in how cells communicate with each other and how brain cells use glucose for energy. Because it is found in very small amounts in food, the body has to either synthesize it or be supplied with it through supplementation.
