PhytoPre is a different kind of prebiotic. Rather than fiber, it uses polyphenols from citrus and pomegranate to feed beneficial gut bacteria while supporting the integrity of the gut mucosal barrier. Because the formula produces very little fermentation, it is a useful option for patients who do not tolerate traditional fiber prebiotics like inulin or FOS.

The two actives are concentrated and well-studied: pomegranate extract standardized to its punicalagins (Pomanox) and a citrus bioflavonoid complex (MicrobiomeX) that has been shown in research to favorably shift gut microbial composition. Together they provide the substrate for a healthier microbial community without flooding a sensitive gut with fermentable sugars.

The microbiome is part of the underlying terrain beneath digestion, mood, and immune tone, which is why a clean daily plate sits at the center of any gut conversation. A polyphenol prebiotic gives me a tool when fiber is not yet tolerated, allowing me to support that terrain while we rebuild from the food side.

Dosing is gentle, but the formula belongs in a thoughtful regimen, taken under the guidance of a practitioner. The aim is to make room for fiber and fermented foods to come back in over time.
